OUR STORY
New River Junction has been an established part of the New River Valley summer for over 40 years. Located about 15 minutes from Blacksburg and Virginia Tech, New River Junction provides family-oriented camping and a wide range of outdoor activities. New River Junction is operated by two generations of the Mondy family. Our family includes many local residents, students, and campers who help us out through each season. We want you to enjoy the very place we call home.
the new river is special
Nearly 300 feet wide at the New River Junction Office, the New River meanders down the bed of limestone before dropping off through McCoy Falls. Water temperatures can get as high as 85-90 degrees in the summer, but it is always less than your body temperature so you’ll find it refreshing. Your time in the River won’t be a shock to your system.
