Campground Rules

Any violation of these rules is grounds for immediate ejection without refund.

  • WIFI PASSWORD:  5406396633
  • Speed limit is 5 MPH on the entire property. Please drive carefully.
  • All campers must stop and register in the office before setting up camp.
  • All visitors must stop and register in office; visitors pay $2 per car to visit and be out of campground by 10:00pm. Campers are responsible for their visitors’ actions.
  • No firearms or fireworks of any kind.
  • Please set your tent up in the greenest patch of grass on your campsite. Please let the yellowish grass recover from the last campers.
  • Ground tarps of any kind are prohibited. We pride ourselves on keeping the grass looking nice for our campers. The chemical makeup in tarps will kill the grass in just a day or two.
  • Fires only in designated fire pits. Do not move our firepits. Do not bring any rocks on to campground property or start a fire in the grass or outside of the fire pit provided at each camp site.
  • Do not put cans, plastic, glass, cigarette butts, or other trash in the fire. Please put trash in trash bags and cigarette butts in an ash tray or empty aluminum can.
  • Please tie up trash in bags and leave by the gravel road. Staff will pick up and dispose. Please do not place trash in trailers or golf carts that are stored on the property.
  • Dogs must be on a leash and under control at all times, it’s a county law. Please don’t let your dog bark or dig any holes. Campers must also clean up after their pets. Please keep pets out of flowerbeds.
  • Do not dig any holes or set up any horseshoe pits on campground property.  Horseshoe pits are located near the port-o-johns and horseshoes are available in the office free of charge with an ID as collateral.
  • RVs, campers, and motor homes– NO mats or carpets of any kind outside on the grass.
  • RVs, campers, and motor homes. Do not dump gray water on campground property. This is against Virginia state law.  A dump station is available (inquire in office).
  • All campers must arrive or be back in the campground before 11:00pm (Quiet hours start).  NO EXCEPTIONS!
  • The cable at the front entrance must remain up at night and at any time management or employees of the New River Junction are not on the property. If the cable is up, please leave it up. It hooks on the pole on the left going out.
  • After packing up camp and before departing, check your campsite one last time and pick up any trash left around the site or in the fire pit.
  • The showers in the bathrooms are turned off while tubers are present (approximately 10:30 am to 6:30 pm). The tuber showers, at the end of the building, are on 24 hours a day. They have the same hot and cold water mix as the bathroom showers.

  • Quiet hours are 11pm to 7am. Radios must be turned OFF and voices kept down. If this policy is violated, you will be asked to leave NOW! There will be NO second chances. So, set your alarm clock, keep an eye on your watch, or have somebody give you a wake up call (or go to bed call) on your cell phone, but do not keep any of our campers awake after 11pm.

  • Due to all the recent bug and disease outbreaks and the sensitivity of the surrounding environment we NO LONGER ALLOW OUTSIDE FIREWOOD! Firewood can be purchased at the office. Our firewood is locally produced and shrink wrapped with a handle. It is dried hardwoods and a bundle burns for about 2 hrs. Please do not burn the plastic wrap in fire pits.
  • The wood and brush located on campground property is the property of New River Junction, Inc. Anyone caught burning brush or logs, not purchased through the office, will be ejected from the campground without a refund.

  • Campers with their own boats, rafts or tubes must have a wristband on and pay the daily usage fee before entering the river and follow all the same rules as our tubers.
  • No private transportation of tubes or boats that leave our property. You must use our shuttle bus for transportation up and down the road.
  • Check with the office daily to find out what the rules are for that day. DO NOT get in the river until you have checked with the office.
  • Children under the age of 16 must have approved life jackets on at ALL times when in the river. No exceptions! Life jackets are available, upon request, for the duration of your stay.

  • New River Junction is a catch and release facility. If you are using New River Junction facilities you must practice catch and release on all sections of the river.
  • One smallmouth bass over twenty-two inches may be kept, but only if that fish is destined for the wall, and not the frying pan.
  • No personal golf carts, four wheelers, utility vehicles etc.
  • No Hitting golf balls on or from New River Junction Property!
  • Please use blue trash cans and bins for cans, bottles, and cardboard. Recycling means less dumpster costs and helps us keep camping fees low.
