We are a small, family-oriented campground located right on the New River. Our camping area is open 7 days a week from Easter through October 16th. Reservations are required. Camping amenities include:
- Picnic tables
- In-ground fire pits
- On-site dump station
- Wi-Fi Access
- Hot showers and restrooms
- Open-air pavilion with a deck overlooking the river, horseshoe pit, and basketball goal
- Sites with available water and electrical service*
- Tent sites with electrical service*
We provide free Wi-Fi access, however, coverage and speeds are not guaranteed.

Occupancy
NRJ Does not charge fees based on the number of persons in a camper or tent. Our tent sites are generally large enough to accommodate more than one tent. Our camping fees are per tent, not per site. If you plan to use a hammock in addition to, or in lieu of, a tent please let us know when you make your reservation so we can place you in an appropriate site.
For tent camping, there is a limit of four adults per tent site.
Reservations
Reservations are required. Call (540) 639-6633 to make reservations for camping spots. Our office hours are 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM daily. NRJ has a 2-night minimum stay for most weekends. Holiday weekends, as well as certain Virginia Tech event weekends (graduation, game days) require a 3-night minimum stay.
Once you’ve made your reservation, be sure you review our campground rules and directions.
DO NOT rely on maps or GPS routing to get to NRJ. Some routings could involve sharp switchbacks, narrow bridges, and gravel roads. Our directions help you and your RV or camper arrive at NRJ without difficulty.
Cancellations
We understand that things happen, and you may need to cancel a reservation after you’ve made it. Our cancellation policy is as follows:

| More than 2 but less than 7 days prior to arrival | Refundable, less a 20% administrative fee |
| Within 2 days of arrival* | No Refund |
If you are planning to arrive on a FRIDAY, you must cancel no later than Tuesday to a refund.
Due to recent bug and disease outbreaks and the sensitivity of the surrounding environment, NRJ NO LONGER ALLOWS OUTSIDE FIREWOOD. Our locally-produced wood is only $7 per bundle, available at the campground office.
Arriving campers should check in at the NRJ Office no later than 9:30 PM.
Check out time is 10:00 AM unless other arrangements are made with the NRJ Office on the day prior to departure.
